TwiceGirlies and Reading Five Books

My twins came home this week with a bookmark. The bookmark has to be filled up with five books they have to read to Mommy or Daddy before March. Then Mommy or Daddy have to sign the bookmark. So, this morning, TwiceBaby "B" read her five books, the books she brings home from school everyday. Okay, so she read a couple simple books and books with a lot more words and longer sentences. Oh, I am so proud of her reading skills. TwiceBaby "B" is really learning to read so much better. The sight words she is learning every week really are really increasing her reading abilities. Before she knows it, she will be reading easily this summer and I will be able to buy her some girlie books she can read on her own. I am so excited!
TwiceBaby "A" is also reading very well too. Just like TwiceBaby "B", she has to read five books and Mommy or Daddy has to sign the bookmark once it is filled up. This morning, TwiceBaby "A" read two books because it was time to leave for school, so she will read three more books and fill up the bookmark as well. So, on Monday, her bookmark will be filled up from books she read over the weekend and signed my Mommy. Also like TwiceBaby "B", the sight words she is learning every week really increase her reading abilities.

Now, my twins are in no competition to see who can read faster or even better, I do not put this pressure on them, I just want to see them have a love for reading like Mommy does. From what I see, and hear, my TwiceGirlies, are having fun learning to read and reading to Mommy without me helping them. Do I sound like a proud Mommy to you? You betcha I am...

TwiceToddlers are so Bored

My twins, they are 4 years old and just have so much energy which needs to be released. All they want to do is play. Daddy and Mommy will take them to the mall to go on the Min-Go-Round and play in the arcade, but the rain and cold weather, it seems to keep us indoors.

My twins are just getting so tired of playing inside and I am sure, of watching Disney movies and their cartoon shows they watch on the weekdays. Daddy and Mommy do have two or three games in which they can play as these games are for toddlers. But my twins just will not sit still as many toddlers I am sure.

With days like this, raining off and on and it being chilly, I do read books to them. I just purchased three books for them at the dollar store. Two small Disney books and one Christian book for toddlers too. I did not see any crafts for toddlers to do at the Dollar store, too bad.

My twins do have their Leapster II's which they like. They have a Dora and Diego game cartridge they interchange and they do like playing those games as they are learning more about letters and numbers and taking direction. My twins are in preschool, so they are learning to take direction in preschool and their dance class, but these games are also fun learning games for them. I play to download a book each for them on their Leapster pretty soon.

My twins like to play "Duck, Duck, Duck, Duck...Goose.." The only problem is, they say "Duck, Duck.." too many times and they do not play correctly..that game is a wash for me...

So, as the winter days continue and our time is more indoors that outdoors, my twins continue with their boredom and so does Mommy.

Twins and Books

Since my twins were 10 months old, they have loved to be read to. Well actually, my husband and I have read to our twins since they were infants. In fact, I read to them when they were in my womb.

Maybe this is why they love to be read to everyday.

Twin B, she is so cute, she just sits on the floor, hard or carpeted, and opens a book, looks at the photos while pointing at the pictures.

Twin A, she does the same thing, except she points out loud to each item pictured.

Oh, and they love sitting somewhere on my lap. They usually fight for a place to sit on my legs. Or, one will sit in between my legs and the other on one of my legs.

When I read to them, they are so precious because they look at me and smile, especially Twin B. She just loves for me to read to her and she loves when I get animated in my voice and physical animations.
