TwiceGirlies in Black and White Photos in Bicycle Gear

On the day after my twins learned to ride their bike without training wheels, I had an idea to take black and white photos of them. There is this light pole across the street from us and I thought that would be a good place to take some photos.

A couple years ago, we had some professional photos take of our girls in our front and backyard. This is one of the spots the photos were take. So this is where I wanted to take some adorable photos of them in their bicycle gear.

As you will see, I have to in full bicycle gear, with their heads looking down and away. They are also leaning against the light pole with their bicycle. Of course they resisted taking these photos as well.

I hope you will enjoy these photos as much as I do.

TwiceGirlies Laying On Front Lawn

**Hello all my readers! Sorry for not writing over the past couple of weeks. I have been very busy writing for payment and entering data entry for some amazing employers.  I am back today with all the stories I have piled up on my desktop. If you are like me and you are a 'show me and tell me' person, here are some new posts for you. If you have never followed my blog, please do so, Thank you.**

We had just gotten back from a small walk/razor/bike ride in our neighborhood. The girls were looking for our neighbors cat, "Romeo". Romeo is an adorable black and white cat with this awesome purr and he loves to rub up against our arms and legs. He is very friendly and, of course, my girlie's and Mommy, love him. Sometimes he follows us home. This is exactly what happened this day. I do not make him walk home with us, he just does.

So this day, he was playing with the girls on our front lawn and this is when I took these photos. I have always like sepia photography, along with black and white photography. I just completed some photos of my twins, in the somewhat 18th/19th century.

Anyway, these are the photos I took of my twins laying down on our front lawn. The poses, of course, were my own. The girls really did not want to take the photos, but I was in a photo taking mood that day, especially with the clouds overhead.

Here are the photos of my TwiceGirlies on Front Lawn:

Do Your Kids Dread Car Rides Together? 6 Fun Car Games Made for Siblings

As all moms and dads know, long car rides with a kid in tow can seem twice as long. Riding with more than one kid, though, can be even more difficult. But, never fear, next time your young ones start in with the “are we there yet” syndrome or start taking their boredom out on one another, try one of these tried and true car games made to play in pairs.

1.      20 Questions
This is a classic game for filling time. Have one rider choose something for the others to guess, usually a person, place or thing. Then the other players take turns asking yes or no questions until someone guesses correctly. If it takes more than twenty questions to get it right, the chooser wins. If someone does guess correctly, that guesser wins and gets to choose next.

2.      Alphabet game
This is a nice game for kids who have just learned their ABC’s. Have your riders look out the window for letters of the alphabet and try to spot letters in order from A-Z. The first one to call out all the letters in order wins.

3.      Spelling Bee
If your kids are of spelling age, try out this fun activity. You can be the judge, and have your kids take turns spelling out words that you give to them. You can keep score with points for correct answers.

4.      Categories
In this game, one rider thinks of a category, such as things that are blue, and players go around in a circle naming things that go in that category. Keep going until a player can’t think of anything more. That player must then drop out and the game continues until there is one winner left.

5.      Rock, Paper, Scissors
A great time-waster, and even decision-maker, we have all played rock, paper, scissors before. Explain the rules to your kids and set up a championship match.

6.      Who Am I?
This is similar to 20 questions, but it only involves guessing people that your kids may kids have met before. It could be a teacher, family friend or delivery person. Have players go around in a circle and ask yes or no questions to narrow down the mystery person.

Steps Toward a Healthy and Comfortable Childbirth

Pregnancy should be a time of happiness and preparation for the new life to come, but the thought of childbirth sometimes causes expecting mothers to be nervous for the challenges they need to face in the delivery room. The good news is that these symptoms can be reduced with a few simple strategies that will ultimately increase the chance of a healthy baby and comfortable birth.

A Healthy Diet for Two
Prenatal vitamins form the backbone of a healthy diet during pregnancy, but more benefits will be found by choosing the best food options. Eliminating artificial ingredients and the empty calories of over-processed foods, like refined sugar and white flours, will open the diet to more whole grains, a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables, and healthy fats. Colorful fruits and vegetables will also provide a wide range of potent antioxidants not covered by prenatal vitamins, and antioxidants can prevent damage to baby and mom caused by free radicals.

Appropriate Levels of Exercise
Getting the right intensity and amount of exercise is not very difficult, and it can result in some awesome benefits. Even if 15minutes of moderate-intensity aerobics is beyond mom's ability, working up to this will provide benefits as well. Benefits of exercise during pregnancy include:

      Enhanced mood
Stronger circulatory system and better delivery of oxygen
      Balanced hormone levels
      Prevention of back pain

Meditation for Pregnancy
Meditation is often used as a complement to exercise, because it hastens the return of the body's resting state and facilitates a faster recovery. Meditation is a simple and inexpensive way of achieving several other benefits for both mom and baby. Physiological changes have been found in studies of meditation that show the changes in brain chemistry that result in reduced anxiety and stress. Other pregnancy-specific benefits include:

Lowered blood pressure, an important step to reducing the risk of pre-eclampsia
Increased production of melatonin, an essential ingredient to a good night's rest
      Higher levels of DHEA production

These strategies are often combined in classes, where moms can meet other moms and learn about childbirth, pregnancy, and new techniques. Taking a childbirth class is important for learning about optional procedures such as cord blood banking and circumcision.  The stem cells found in your baby’s cord blood could provide a potential treatment option for certain medical problems the baby may face down the road.  Knowing about this and other changes to modern childbirth makes for a more relaxed mom and happier baby.
