Two Sets of Fraternal Twins on Same Street

Last week, I was talking to our new neighbors..they were talking with our neighbor across the street. I was looking at the two girls..I would look at one, then the other.then them together...Now, I am not a fan of always telling people my twins are well..twins...I think to myself, you can not tell by looking at them? But, I know it is interesting and a question that just has to be asked...LOL

So, as I was looking at the twin girls, I asked, " Are you twins?" What I should have asked was, "So, are you fraternal or identical twins?" This would have been the better question to ask. So, they told me they are fraternal twins. I told them my twins were also fraternal. The older twins were born two months early and weighed around 4lbs, whereas my twins were born 7 weeks early and they weighed a little over 3 lbs.

So, really, what are the odds two sets of twins, fraternal, would be living next to each other? The older set of twins look just alike, as are my twin girls. Just crazy if you ask me!!

Being a Bzz Agent is Fun, Especially When I Get To Try Their Spice Packets For Dinner Ideas

Bzzing about Lawry's Spice Packets is awesome. Well, I have used Lawry's spices for ever. I mean, the one spice packet I have used for ever is the Taco spice packet. I love this one in particular because all Summer and sometimes in the cooler months, I make taco's. Using this spice packet is so easy and if you have made homemade taco's, then I am sure you have used this taco spice packet.

Along with this taco spice packet, I was given two other spice packets for making chicken dishes.
Tuscan Style Chicken Marsala with Garlic and Basil. I made my dinner exactly as this receipe given by Lawry's:

Tips for Keeping Children Safe Online

--Philip J Reed, on behalf of Westwood College

It may not be the most pleasant topic, but with young children in the family who get ever more attached to their electronic devices it's crucial that we stay aware of what they're doing, and also make them aware of the dangers. The Internet has revolutionized the way people send and receive information. The change has been groundbreaking, but it has also put our children in harm's way. By following a few safety measures, however, this risk can be substantially reduced.

Following a few guidelines can greatly reduce the dangers that children face online. These are only a few suggestions, and we’d like to hear any others that you may practice yourself.

1) LOCATION
First and foremost, parents should keep the computer in a family room, not their child's bedroom. If your child does have his or her own computer, it’s easy enough to disable internet access. This will still allow them to use their computer for homework, games or other diversions, but it will keep them accessing the internet without you being aware of what they’re seeing.

2) EDUCATION
Education is also a very important measure. By warning your child of the dangers of internet predators and the potential dishonesty of their online acquaintances, they are far less likely to become victims of any kind. Keep them aware of the danger, and keep them aware of how real that danger is. Posture as children sometimes might, no child truly wants to find themselves endangered. Make them aware of the gravity of the situation, and also let them know why you are concerned. They may not thank you for it, but they will appreciate it.

3) AWARENESS
It may seem like snooping, but when it can protect your child it’s important to be aware of what your child is doing. Most internet browsers allow you to easily view a list of the most recently accessed sites, and this can make you aware of any warning signs. Of course the internet is not always a pleasant place, and it’s possible that your child accessed objectionable content accidentally. That in itself is not always a cause for concern, but when you see these sites being repeatedly accessed, it’s important to take action. You may also wish to have the password for their personal email account, or, better, not allow them to have a personal email account and require that all email go through a family account.

4) WATCH FOR WARNING SIGNS
There are many signs parents can look for if they suspect their children are inappropriately communicating with strangers, or accessing or creating objectionable content. Do they close their browser or shut down their computer when you enter the room? Do previously-excitable children suddenly seem withdrawn? Are they finding more and more time to spend online than they have been in the past? Again, these things might signify nothing, but it’s important to keep an eye out for changes in attitude and behavior. If there’s a problem, you don’t want to wait until it’s too late.

5) BE AWARE OF OTHER METHODS OF CONTACT
Parents can also watch for contact between their children and unknown persons by carefully monitoring both the mail and the telephone. According to an FBI publication, A Parent's Guide to Internet Safety, strangers will often try to get a child's home telephone number or send them gifts or packages through the U.S. Mail. Be aware of any penpals they have, and take notice of any letters or packages they receive from new and different names. Also, know your children’s friends. Know their names, know where they live, and have access to their parents’ phone numbers. If you’re suspicious that your child isn’t really where he or she says they are, follow up with the parents and check.

The internet is an exciting but also potentially dangerous place. Police, politicians, IT specialists and everyone with cyber security training are always trying to come up with new and better ways to keep us – and especially our children – safe online. It isn’t easy, but you might be surprised just how far a little bit of awareness, education, and interest in your child’s life can go!

TwiceGirlies, Mommy and Daddy Go To Pumpkin Patch

Last Saturday my Twins, Mommy and Daddy went to the Dell Osso Family Farm Pumpkin Patch. We go every Fall and this Fall was just as fun as it always is. This year, they added a new attraction, but it began at 4PM and we were tired around that time.

My twins took at pony ride, went into the petting area, played on the very big tractor wheels and played in the pumpkin patch.

Right now I am still looking at the photos I took. When I have looked at all of them and re sized them, I will (of course) add them to this article.

**Oh and before we went to the Pumpkin Patch, we took photos at Auntie JuJu's home. I was very sunny there as you can see from the photos**

TwiceGirlies Completed Painting for Nana and Papa

Monday my twins and Mommy finally completed the painting for Nana and Papa. It is so awesome. This is the painting idea I found at Michael's in the paint and canvas section. This painting was suggested for Mother's Day, but this painting project could be made anytime of the year.

This painting project requires two or three canvas panels, paint of your choice, ribbon and a crop a dile. The painting could use two or three colors. Once the paint dried, I painted my twin girlies hands with the colors they wanted. The paint on their hands had to be different than the colors on the canvas. Then, after the paint dried from the hands, my twin girlies dipped their finger into a bowl of paint and wrote their name at the bottom of the canvas.

Once all the paint dried, I used the crop a dile and cut out two holes at the top of the canvas and bottom of the canvas. I did the same thing of the second canvas, but only cut out holes on the top. After all the holes were cut out, I pulled the ribbon into the two holes on top and bottom of the first canvas and pulled ribbon through the top of the second canvas.

After the ribbon was pulled through all the holes, I kept tying the ribbon just so it would not go through the tiny holes. Finally, after all the ribbon was tied together, the painting is ready to be hung on a wall. Here is my final product and this would make for an anytime gift from your child to their loved one. It is very easy to do and kids love to paint and get all messy, right?

TwiceGirlies New Easel Drawings..Love Them!!

Okay, if you have not read any of my previous articles on my twins drawing on their easels, well they love drawing with colored pens or chalk. Everyday my twins come home from school, and on the weekend, my twins are drawing and drawing and drawing. I just love seeing their drawing and being creative.

When my twins are in school, they also do a lot of drawing and coloring. In fact, they copy what their teacher does on the chalk board on where ever she has drawn something. My twins come home with the drawing, being colored in, and WOW, I love seeing their artwork. It makes Mommy so proud, if you have not noticed, because I too love to draw and paint.

Every time my twins do a new drawing or painting, I will more likely than not, show you what they have done on my blog.

TwiceGirlie "A" Finally Lost Her First Baby Tooth

Yeah, my TwiceGirlie "A" has finally lost her first baby tooth. Oh, she was so excited..it happened on Saturday evening as we came home from being out and about. She was playing with her tooth, moving it back and forth, and finally..it fell out!!

Oh yeah, she was smiling from ear to ear and Mommy was so happy for her..Twice Girlie "B" began talking about how she lost two teeth and I told her not to ruin this moment for your sister....

Then, as Mommy always does, I begin taking photos of her tooth, tiny little tooth, in her hand and of the hole in her gums. The funny thing is, like her sister's tooth, that new adult tooth is coming up, even before the baby tooth can fall out......weird, don't you think?

Any who...here are some pictures I took of Twice Girlie "A" with her tooth out..

TwiceGirlies at Tae Kwon Do/Martial Arts Class

This week we took our twins to their fist Tae Kwon Do class. This classes are offered inside our gym. This first class was free so we could see if they liked it. With their free class, they also received a free uniform, which they look just adorable in. Well, they love it and love being able to use their voices. Yes, their voices, in that they have to raise their voices when responding to their teacher.

My twins teacher is wonderful too. He is really a great teacher with the "Mini-Masters" as they are called. This is for the class of children between ages 4-8 in looks like. This class has the head teacher and two assistants teaching the children.

I love seeing my twins having fun, while getting some exercise at the same time. Here are photos of my twins on their first day at Tae Kwon Do and their second.

THIS IS THEIR FIRST DAY:

THIS IS THIER SECOND DAY:

Oh yeah, Mommy is trying to figure out how to wrap the belt around their waist. My goodness, it is not as easy as it looks. First, I have to figure out how to tie the top portion of their uniform together, them wrap the belt around their waste. Even after looking at the photos from the website, I am still confused.

Aside from that, I am having fun watching my TwiceGirlies having fun and they love Mommy watching them learn something new. I hope to have my TwiceGirlies learn a new sport every season...but not in the Winter months.

Here are some Videos I took of my TwiceGirlies as well:

TwiceGirlies and Easel Drawings

My twins, they love drawing and ever since I brougt their easel's back in our home, last year, they have been drawing: chalk and colored pens all the time. It is nice to see them being creative on the easel instead of always watching television. Plus, I want to see my girls being more creative as my side of the family is creative with drawing, painting, making head wear and writing,

I am sure at least one of my twins will be painting, drawing or doing anything ccreative at sometime in their lives. When I look at my twins drawing and paintings, I see budding artists in my twins and I am doing my best to take as many photos of their work, on their easel's, as possible and having them do more painting and drawing on paper.

Well, here are some new drawings from their easel's...enjoy!
